We take your privacy seriously. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what your rights are.
1 Who We Are
Laggy World is a community Minecraft server. This Privacy Policy applies to data collected through our Minecraft server, website (this site), and any affiliated Discord community. References to "we," "us," or "our" mean the Laggy World server operators.
2 What We Collect
- Minecraft Username & UUID — Your in-game identity, used to identify your account on the server.
- IP Address Collected for security, anti-grief, and DDoS mitigation purposes.
- Playtime & Game Statistics In-game metrics such as deaths, kills, and hours played, used for leaderboards and server balancing.
- Chat Messages In-game chat is temporarily logged for moderation purposes.
- Discord Account ID If you link Discord to the server, we store your Discord user ID for authentication and whitelisting.
We do not collect real names, email addresses, payment information, or any sensitive personal data unless you voluntarily provide it to us.
3 Why We Collect It Legal Basis
We collect data under the following legal bases (relevant for users in the EU/EEA under GDPR):
- Legitimate Interests IP addresses and chat logs are processed to protect the server and other players from abuse, harassment, and cheating.
- Contractual Necessity Your username and UUID are required to operate your account on the server and fulfill your access to the game service.
- Consent By connecting to our server and using our website, you consent to data processing as described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by requesting account deletion.
4 What We Don't Do
- Sell or rent your data to any third party
- Share your data with advertisers or ad networks
- Track you across other websites
- Use your data for any purpose beyond operating this server and keeping it secure
- Profile you for commercial purposes
5 How Long We Keep Data
- Chat logs Retained for up to 7 days for moderation review, then deleted.
- IP address logs Retained for up to 30 days for security auditing, then purged.
- Game statistics & UUID Retained for as long as you have an active account. Deleted upon account deletion request.
- Discord ID Retained while you are linked to the server. Removed upon unlinking or account deletion request.
We do not retain any personal data longer than necessary for the purposes described above.
6 Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Cloudflare Provides DDoS protection and proxies traffic to our web server. Cloudflare may process your IP address. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Discord Used for community management and optional server authentication. See Discord's Privacy Policy.
- Mojang / Microsoft Your Minecraft account is managed by Mojang. We receive your UUID and username via the Mojang API for authentication. See Microsoft's Privacy Policy.
We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their data practices. We only receive the minimum data necessary from each service.
7 Cookies & Tracking
Our website uses only essential cookies necessary to maintain your session. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any cross-site tracking. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded on this website beyond those listed under Third-Party Services above.
8 Children's Privacy Important
Minecraft is played by people of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA) beyond what is described in this policy and what is technically necessary to connect to a Minecraft server.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information beyond what is described here, please contact us via Discord and we will delete it promptly.
We do not knowingly build profiles on minors or use their data for any purpose other than operating the game server.
9 Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure Request that we delete your account and all associated personal data. We will complete this within 30 days of your request.
- Right to Restrict Processing Ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Right to Data Portability Request your data in a portable format where technically feasible.
- Right to Object Object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests.
- California Residents (CCPA) You have the right to know what data we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt-out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

10 Security & Data Breaches
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the data we store, including access controls and encrypted connections. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in risk to your rights or freedoms, we will notify affected users as soon as reasonably practicable via our Discord server and, where required by law, notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
11 Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the EU/EEA, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents, and other applicable regional privacy laws to the best of our ability as a community server.
12 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the bottom of this page and post an announcement in our Discord server. Continued use of the server or website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
